  • Objectives

  • To divert young people away from anti-social behaviour and crime, while at the same time preventing them from becoming victims of crime. (particularly drug and alcohol abuse) which is often caused by boredom during the spring and summer months.


  • To involve young people in community safety based projects, which reduce both crime and the fear of crime.


  • To encourage young people to spend their spare time constructively by becoming involved in community issues and doing something positive to improve their local area.


  • To encourage young people from all diverse backgrounds and cultures to take pride and ownership of their community and work together for the benefit of everyone, while becoming better citizens who thrive on positive publicity.


  • To enhance the status of young people within their wider communities due to their volunteering work.


  • To improve the quality of life in the communities of South Yorkshire and promote positive citizenship, making it a safer environment in which to live and work.


  • To build up positive relationships between young people, the Police and the local communities.


  • To promote Lifestyle Volunteers to all 11-16 year olds across South Yorkshire.
